Isabelle Set Up Instructions

I have opted to include the instructions on one page. I receive a lot of technical support questions and one of the most frequently asked questions is, “Why do I have to click so many things to learn how to install a theme?” So to make this a better experience for buyers, I opted to use the toggle boxes to separate out and to display the instructions. There are also downloadable instructions where applicable, so please read everything in their entirety.

I would love your feedback on the theme and also the presentation and usage of the instructions, so please use the contact form to reach out to me with any suggestions you may have for making these better.

More tips

  1. Category Descriptions – the category descriptions do not export to the demo file. Therefore, after installing everything, you will need to go to each category and add the “Archive Intro Text.”
  2. Comments – if you will be allowing comments, visit Genesis > Theme Settings. Scroll down to “Comments and Trackbacks”. At Enable Comments > select “on Posts?” Scroll down and Save.

If you have followed these instructions and your site does NOT look like the demo – please submit a ticket at support@cre8tivediva.com. To receive support, you must indicate the name and email address associated with your purchase.

Instructions for Installing on an Existing Website

If you have an existing website, follow these instructions.

Clear Widget Area

The widget areas in your current website were created for your theme. Before you proceed, go to Appearance > Widgets. Drag all of your widgets to the Inactive Widgets area. This will preserve your widgets so you can use them again in Isabelle.

Installing Genesis, Isabelle and the Plugins

Follow the same steps as importing the demo content above, except… you will not install the Demo Content or the Widget (.wie file).

Regenerate Thumbnails

Once you have Genesis, Isabelle and the plugins installed and activated you will need to Regenerate Thumbnails to resize your images to fit the sizes used in Isabelle. Go to Plugins > Add New. Search for “Regenerate Thumbnails”, install and activate. Then go to Tools > select Regenerate Thumbnails and run it.

Continue below by clicking “Adding Your Widgets” toggle in the next window.
